Help with Thermometer
Most questions are about where the reading comes from and why a widget is behind. Both are answered below. If your question is not here, write to the developer directly — a real person reads it.
Please include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and the app version from the bottom of Settings. It makes a real difference to how fast a problem can be fixed.
The temperature does not match my other weather app
Thermometer shows the outdoor air temperature reported by Apple Weather for your location. Other apps use different providers and different observation stations, so they will not always agree. The iPhone has no outdoor air temperature sensor, so no app on it measures the air around you directly. If the value looks far off for where you are, check which place is named at the top of the screen — a pinned city stays pinned until you switch back to following your location.
My widget is showing an old reading
Widgets draw from the last reading the app saved, which is what lets them work without a network request of their own. Open the app to fetch a fresh reading; the widgets update from it. iOS also decides how often a widget may refresh, so a widget can lag behind the app by design.
The app is not using my location
Open the iOS Settings app, find Thermometer, and check Location. "While Using the App" is enough. If location is off, you can still use the app: tap the place name at the top of the screen and search for a city.
I want Fahrenheit, or Celsius
Use the C / F toggle at the bottom of the dial, or the unit setting in Settings. The choice applies to the app and to every widget. Until you choose explicitly, the app starts from your region's convention.
I want the app in another language
Open Settings inside the app and pick a language. The interface changes immediately, and you do not have to change your iPhone's language. 20 languages are available, including "System" to follow your device.

- A network connection to fetch a new reading.
- Location access, or a city you searched for.
